In loving memory of Mrs. Beatrice Jesudasan, who was born and lived in Gurunagar, Jaffna.

While you were holding our hands, the whole world looked beautiful… Amma.
Even if a thousand relatives surround us with affection,
Amma, there is no one who can love us the way you did.

Before you even saw my face,
Before you even heard my voice,
Before you even knew my character,
You loved me, Amma.

Every day you worried about us –
But not even for a single day did you worry about yourself, Amma.

When illness came upon us, you would tremble with concern, Amma.
To whom can we now share our sorrows, Amma?

We have been living all this time without you, Amma –
Yet you live within us.

Though you are gone from this world in body,
You are forever part of our souls.
As long as we live, we will yearn for your love, Amma.

Even though a decade has passed since you left us, Amma,
It still feels like just a moment… Amma.
